Why church membership?
The New Testament is full of many commands to do things for "one another". One of the implications of this is an expectation that we are in a committed community with others--we call that church membership! It's a practical way for us to visibly commit to following Jesus together. And together is important because, let's face it, we can't do it alone. Christianity is no solo sport. One of the greatest gifts Jesus has given us is His people.
We believe membership is a big deal! It's not something that should be done lightly, so take some time to get to know us. Join us for worship on Sundays, get to know some people, ask some questions, and get a feel for the life of our church.
How do I become a member?
- You must be a baptized follower of Jesus and show evidence of your salvation by loving others. If you are not yet baptized and would like to get baptized, talk to one of our pastors!
- Come to a Membership Class (these typically last about an hour and a half). Please take the time to read over our church's statement of faith before this meeting.
- Request a membership meeting. Two of our pastors will meet with you to discuss how you came to faith, ensure that you affirm our statement of faith, and agree to live by our church covenant. This meeting is usually about 30 minutes.
