Why church membership?
Church membership is how we live out our faith in Jesus Christ in everyday life. It's a practical way for us to visibly commit to following Jesus together. And together is important because, let's face it, we can't do it alone. Christianity is no solo sport. One of the greatest tools Jesus has given us is His people.
How do I become a member?
- We believe membership is a big deal! It's not something that should be done lightly, so take some time to get to know us. Join us for worship on Sundays, get to know some people, ask some questions, and get a feel for the life of our church.
- To be a member of our church, you must be a baptized follower of Jesus, show evidence of your salvation by loving others, affirm our statement of faith, and agree to live by our church covenant.
- Request a membership meeting - At least 2 of our pastors will meet with you to discuss your relationship with Jesus and desire to join the church. This meeting is usually about 30 minutes.
The New Testament is full of many commands to do things for "one another". One of the implications of this is an expectation that we are in a committed community with others--we call that church membership.
