"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."- Psalm 127:1
GIVE
As we step forward in faith to raise $500,000 over the next year, we invite every member of our church family to join us in this journey by prayerfully seeking what faithful and sacrificial giving might look like in their own lives. Whether through one-time gifts or increased monthly giving, this is an opportunity for us to respond to God’s faithfulness by giving generously, trusting that He will use our collective offering to reach and build His Kingdom here in South Belton. Together, we can make an eternal impact by creating space for ministry, discipleship, and the many lives God will transform in the years to come.
Ways to give:

GROW
God is at work in MHBC--we are growing in maturity and in numbers (over 50% of our regularly attending members have joined in the last 4 years). We are quickly outgrowing our space. Beyond MHBC, central Texas is quickly growing with no signs of slowing. We desire to wisely steward what God has entrusted to us so that we would be a blessing to the people of MHBC now and in the future.
We believe God has providentially placed MHBC in South Belton, at the intersection of the busy I-35 corridor and a sea of houses and apartment complexes, in a quickly growing neighborhood with few churches. Because our church is land-locked, we must be strategic with the property God has entrusted to us.
Our Master Plan maximizes the property entrusted to us with these key features:
- 315 seat sanctuary
- New nursery space
- Enhanced children’s security
- Youth connected to main building
- A clear main entrance
- A central ministry hub
GO
We refuse to grow merely for the sake of growing. Since we believe God has blessed us to be a blessing, alongside asking God to provide for our property needs, we are seeking to increase our fruitfulness in missions and outreach.
Here are some of the initiatives we will be implementing:
- Meeting needs in our community with new monthly outreaches
- Reaching the nations by increasing giving focused on unreached people groups
- Training the next generation of church leaders by utilizing the youth house for Pastoral Interns
- Multiplying ourselves through church planting

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
- How much will this Master Plan cost?
- We are asking our church to faithfully raise $500,000 over the next year toward our new building plan. While current estimates place the total cost of the project at approximately $3.5 million, we believe there are significant opportunities to reduce expenses. By leveraging the skills, talents, and labor of our church members, we can lower overall costs and be good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.
- How long will this take?
- The timeline for completing the building plan depends on the success of this fundraising campaign. While we don’t have an exact timeframe, our goal is to see the project completed in 5 to 7 years. As funds are raised, we plan to begin implementing different phases of the Master Plan, so you’ll see progress as soon as initial contributions allow us to move forward.
- Why are we doing this now?
- Belton and Central Texas are growing rapidly, and by God’s grace, so is our church. Currently, we are exceeding 80% capacity in our Sunday morning services, which is the point where most churches begin to experience limitations in seating and engagement. We believe this trend will continue, and delaying action could result in significantly higher construction costs as prices continue to rise.
- How can I make an impact?
-
Every member can make a difference through prayer and sacrificial giving. We encourage everyone to pray about how they can contribute in ways that honor God. Sacrificial giving may look different for each person—whether that’s giving up non-essential expenses like a streaming subscription or frequent coffee runs, selling unused possessions, or adjusting monthly budgets. To reach our goal, it would take many members doubling their regular monthly giving. We will also share giving testimonials to encourage and inspire creative ways to give.
-
- Are gifts tax-deductible?
- Yes! All gifts made to Miller Heights Baptist Church are fully tax-deductible. Contribution statements will be provided for your records.
- What happens if we outgrow this plan?
- Our Master Plan was developed in consultation with professional organizations to maximize our current property. This plan represents the most we can build with the space we have. If God continues to grow our church beyond what this plan can accommodate, we plan to plant a new church in a strategic location, sending members from MHBC to continue our mission of making disciples.
- What are the phases of the building plan?
- We are currently determining the priority of each phase in the building plan. Our immediate focus is on raising the necessary support. Once we have clarity on available funds, we will finalize which phases can be initiated first to ensure that every step forward is strategic and impactful.
